Recently, we had the wonderful opportunity to present the vision of Hearts of Earth in the context of a presentation under the theme “Buying Land in Community.” At the center stood a question that concerns many community projects: how financing and long-term sustainability can be secured. Only 10% of communities endure in the long run – an indication of how important stable structures and fair frameworks truly are.
For a community to function sustainably, several key aspects are essential:
-
A viable model that works in the long term
-
Equal participation, even in the face of financial differences
-
Fair and simple entry and exit options
-
Ensuring financial flow for buildings, infrastructure, renovations, and developments
At the SelaMursa Gathering, we used this space to discuss these challenges and to present the Passage Model as a concrete proposal for sustainable financing.
The Passage Model connects the inner dimension – clarity of intention, trust in the process, alignment with the collective – with the outer dimension of concrete structures, decisions, and legal steps. In this supportive environment, ideas were exchanged, interlaced, and linked – like threads creating a new fabric for the future. Every input became a gift, adding depth and brightness to the space.
Especially in times of profound change, it becomes clear how important it is to share knowledge and develop viable concepts. A part of our work consists in carefully accompanying communities in their formation and development, so that living spaces do not merely emerge, but also grow, flourish, and endure over time – supported by mutual inspiration, love, and clarity.
